Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on this part of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. For those who don't know, the West Island tend to think it's a isolated island to the west of Montreal although in actual fact, the West Island is home to anything and everything that is found in Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa. Her first ambition was to become a performer, but she grew beyond her dancers. She admitted in an article released by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I grew out of male companions, I stopped. For Brugel, it was the encouragement of a drama teacher from her high-school that led her to take up acting. It was suggested that she try out for roles in the school's production. After some trial and error it, she was cast as the lead actress for Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, she's appeared participating in numerous productions in smaller and big ones. The most notable was her notoriety when she got her part as Rita of the acclaim-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian for the season 1 actors of the series and seen only occasionally, was the only Canadian.
